Russian potash miner to pay extra for mine collapse including $142.1m. railroad bypass

JSC Uralkali sees a new chapter in the two-year probe which followed the flood accident at its potash Mine 1 in the Ural Mountain, in west-central Russia, in October 2006. The Russian government has decided that the miner, Russia’s second largest potash producer, has to pay part of the construction of a 53-km railroad bypass connecting Yaiva to Solikamsk, amounting to R5,000m. ($142.1m.),
