Editor’s Comment: Sulphur prices double while antimony and graphite rise

Mineral prices were on the move this week as industry sources reported price rises across several markets.

 

Sulphur prices have doubled over the last six-to-eight weeks on a combination of increased Chinese demand and tightness in supply, particularly from the Middle East.

 

Latest indications for spot prices are $80-90/tonne for solid sulphur, FOB Vancouver, while prices in China are around the $150/tonne mark CFR. There are indications that this week prices will lift higher to...
