US exports of soda ash are expected to be strong in 2010 while prices are set to make a marginal recovery as demand for the material re-emerges, leading US producers told IM.
“We expect to see a significant improvement in the export market volume in 2010 over 2009. We expect to be operating at high rates but do not see huge price recoveries as the market has settled now,” said a source at a leading US soda ash producer.
