Indias Tata Chemicals, the worlds second largest producer of soda ash, saw its Q3 FY 2009-10 profit more than double thanks to higher sales volumes and stable pricing across its range of products.
The Mumbai-based company which is also a major producer of sodium bicarbonate, fertilisers and salt, reported profit of 2,120m. rupees ($45.9m.) despite a 28% drop in sales across the companys product line.
