Prices of ground calcined alumina, used widely in abrasive, ceramic , and refractory applications, have remained stable since the start of the year but remain significantly lower than prices last year, leading producers have told IM.
Latest prices for standard unground calcined alumina (98.5-99.5% Al2O3 bulk FOB refinery) have been quoted at $600/tonne which compares to a price of $775/tonne during the same period last year. Prices for low soda alumina remain high at over $1,000/tonne.
