Canpotex, the offshore marketing agency for the Saskatchewan potash producers, has agreed a spot contract for 350,000 tonnes of potash to Chinese company Sinofert for delivery before the end of Q1 2010.
The actual contract price was undisclosed and described as “competitive”, but Saskatchewan energy and resources minister, Bill Boyd, expected that the price of the contract was in the “$375/tonne plus” range.
