European buyers of non-metallurgical grades of chromite insist prices for the material have not risen since the start of the year despite efforts by South African suppliers to push through increases.
Suppliers in South Africa, by far the worlds largest source of non-met grade chromite, told IM that prices (all 46% Cr2O3, wet bulk FOB Transvaal) rose to $200-240/tonne from $190-210/tonne for chemical grade.
