Perlite Canada Inc. has closed its perlite and vermiculite processing plant in Baie-du-Febvre, Quebec, to reduce costs as it consolidates production at its two remaining facilities.
The group completed the construction of a new Saint-Pachome, Quebec, plant in 2008 as well as acquiring a facility in Montreal from rival producer, Normiska Corp., for $3.3m.
