S&B bauxite difficulties persist

S&B Industrial Minerals SA, the EU’s leading bauxite producer, is finding it tough going this year as it comes to terms with disruption to its bauxite supply impacted by delays in permitting in a beleaguered Greek economy

S&B Industrial Minerals SA, the EU’s leading bauxite producer, is finding it tough going this year as it comes to terms with disruption to its bauxite supply impacted by delays in permitting in a beleaguered Greek economy.

The Athens based bauxite, bentonite, and perlite producer announced during its Q1 2010 results that “our ability to follow demand and our profitability have been adversely impacted due to critical delays in the permitting procedure, and a temporary suspension of our mining activity over certain areas ordered by the Council of State”
