Henan Billions Chemicals Co. Ltd has revealed to IM new expansion plans to take its sulphate titanium dioxide (TiO2) capacity to 200,000 tpa.

The company operates the Jiaozuo city plant in China’s Henan province which has just completed an upgrade to 150,000 tpa of pigment from a 2009 expansion.

But the positive long term outlook for domestic demand driven by consumption of paint in new builds and manufacturing of white goods together with solid exports for Henan Billions has resulted in another boost in capacity.

“By the end of 2010, we will expand the capacity to 200,000 tpa,” a source in the company told IM, “we will install another 300,000 tpa sulphur-burning facility to support the expansion.”

The new developments add to a significant ramp up of manufacturing capacity for Henan Billions over the past three years.
