Elmin to increase bauxite production in 2011

Greek producer invests in new mines and port facilities; expects market demand rise

Hellenic Mining Enterprises SA (Elmin) is strengthening its already well-established position in the non-metallurgical, non-refractory bauxite supply market.

Lyberis Polychronopoulos, CEO of Elmin, told IM: “The plan for 2011 is production of 530,000 tonnes [up from 420,000 tonnes in 2010], but we are ready to increase our production by 150,000 tonnes more, depending on market conditions.”
