Prices of silicon carbide (SiC) are set to rise as producers in Europe push through increases driven by higher energy and production costs, as well as increased demand from the improving global economy.

One main reason for the higher prices in Europe is that producers in the region have reverted to producing SiC during the daytime due to increased demand and have incurred higher electricity costs as a result.
