Prices for low-arsenic grades of chemical-grade fluorspar (acidspar) from Mexico have edged up further this month, in line with strengthening global demand for the mineral which is used to produce a wide range of fluorochemicals.
Latest prices for acidspar filtercake (less than 5ppm As, FOB Tampico, Mexico) have risen this month to $350-370/tonne from $330-350/tonne in January, and $290-320/tonne at the end of last year.
