Australian zircon and rutile production volumes both met and exceeded expectations in Q1 2011, Iluka Resources Ltd said on Tuesday in its quarterly production report.
Production levels
The mineral sands producer said that zircon production in the three months to 31 March 2011 was 135,500 tonnes, more than double the level for the same period in 2010 (58,500 tonnes).
For the full year, Iluka has set an approximate production level of 250,000 tpa.
