Novacarb says market is tightening, market welcomes intricate pricing formula

French soda producer Novacarb said today that it will be increasing all of its dense and light soda ash prices by at least 10% by July 2011.

The price hikes in the industrial mineral, which is used in the manufacture of glass and a range of chemicals, were attributed to rising energy costs.

The Nancy-based company uses an intricate formula to develop its prices, which relies quite heavily on gas, power, coal and coke markets.
