Orbite files patent for iron oxide production from haematite

Exploration Orbite VSPA Inc. of Canada has filed a new provisional patent application in the USA aiming to protect a new process for production of iron oxide.

The iron oxide is to be sourced from haematite produced as a by-product in the processing of Orbite’s Grande-Vallee aluminous clay deposit in Quebec.

Iron oxide has a wide range of applications including use as a pigment in paints and coatings, and as a filler in plastics and rubber.

Orbite owns 100% of the exclusive mining rights on the 6,441 hectare Grande-Vallee property, the located 32km north-east of Murdochville, hosting an indicated resource of more than 1bn tonnes of aluminous clay.
