In order to meet growing demand from the silicon wafer wire sawing market in China’s photovoltaic and semiconductor industries, SiC Processing GmbH is to significantly strengthen its production capacity in China.
The company has commissioned two new production lines at its Baoding, Hebei province, plant in China, increasing capacity by 30,000 tonnes to 60,000 tpa silicon carbide slurry.
The two production lines, designated no. 3 and 4, will be recycling and recovering used silicon carbide sawing suspension, or slurry, and amount to an investment of €22m.($31.4m.).
During the second quarter of 2011, construction commenced on a further expansion at Baoding for production lines 5 and 6 which will add a further 30,000 tpa production capacity....
