Chinese fluorspar, TiO2 and potash prices hiked on stronger global demand

Fluorspar spot prices in China reached new highs this week off the back of strong global demand and show no sign of levelling off soon, market sources told IM.

 

“A major trader was quoted $650/tonne for a large shipment of Chinese acidspar earlier this month... By all accounts, it does seem to be credible and prices may have achieved a new plateau,” a non-Chinese producer told IM.

 

“It’s all to do with supply and demand. Fluorspar consumption in China is continuing to increase at a rapid rate. Globally, the fluorine industry is doing very well....
