Kumas Kutahya Manyezit Isletmeleri AS, Turkeys leading magnesia and refractories producer, is to expand fused magnesia production capacity to 26,000 tpa.
Talking to IM at the foundry trade fair GIFA 2011 held in Dusseldorf in June, Nafiz Ozdemir, marketing manager at Kumas, told IM: We are now building a new 80,000 tpa rotary kiln for dead burned and caustic calcined magnesia production.
The new kiln will provide feedstock to enable Kumas to double its fused magnesia production capacity to 26,000 tpa.
In May 2010, Kumas started up a second fused magnesia furnace, boosting its total fused magnesia production capacity to 13,000 tpa.
