Iluka to restart Eneabba minsands mine in Western Australia

Rising prices of titanium minerals and zircon have driven Iluka Resources to restart mining activities at its Eneabba operations in Western Australia.

The Perth-based mineral sands group said it would also prepare its ‘synthetic rutile kiln 3’ for a three-year production run.

Mining and processing operations at Eneabba, located in the state’s mid-west region, were mothballed in mid 2010 due to declining mineral grades and low profit margins. Iluka will restart mining at the end of 2011.
