Rising prices of titanium minerals and zircon have driven Iluka Resources to restart mining activities at its Eneabba operations in Western Australia.
The Perth-based mineral sands group said it would also prepare its synthetic rutile kiln 3 for a three-year production run.
Mining and processing operations at Eneabba, located in the states mid-west region, were mothballed in mid 2010 due to declining mineral grades and low profit margins. Iluka will restart mining at the end of 2011.
