California rare earth developer modifies contract to reflect recent pricing surge

Molycorp has signed a three-year contract to supply 75% of lanthanum produced at its proposed 19,050 tpa Mountain Pass rare earths project to a single customer.

The California project is set to be the largest rare earths source in the world outside of China when it comes on stream at the end of 2012, and should go some way to relieving global supply shortages.
