Tightening markets push prices higher, ilmenite remains stable

Prices for synthetic graphite fine have jumped up this week owing to a shortage of the material. Natural graphite prices remain stable.

 

“We have not felt any resistance from customers,” a source in the market told IM.

 

“Some electrode plants have started recycling the fine material for electrode production. This has led to a price increase and a shortage of material,” the source said, adding that the trend is set to continue.
