Krosaki Harima Corp (KHC) plans to build a 200m. rupees ($4.3m.) plant in India to produce refractory mud , a clayish refractory material used to fill a blast-furnace taphole, Japans leading refractories producer reported while announcing a decline its first quarter profit.
Krosaki explained that the plant will be located within TRL Krosaki Refractories Ltds (TKRL, formerly Tata Refractories Ltd) main factory in Belpahar, in Odisha, India, in order to accommodate the expected growth in refractory demand as the steel output of India increases.
The company targets 18,000 tpa tar mud and resin mud, with production expected to start from September 2012.
