Perlite prices set to rise up to 10% on strong demand

Perlite prices will rise between 5-10% in the coming months, driven by increased costs, inflation and strong demand, industry sources told IM.

Last week, Nevada-based EP Minerals LLC said it will implement a 7-10% price increase across all grades of perlite on 1 October 2011.

The group said that the increase is necessary to offset inflationary pressures particularly in the areas of regulatory compliance, taxes and benefits, mining and hauling, freight and logistics.
