What is the share of the refractories division within Imerys?

Imerys’ minerals for refractories division is situated at the heart of the Minerals for Ceramics, Refractories, Abrasives, and Foundry business group which accounts for 32% of total Imerys sales in 2010.

Sales of the business group in H1 2011 were 12% above the same period of 2010, as a result of the good performance of our end markets and projects - new builds and heavy maintenance - in the steel and aluminium industry. This progression of the turnover is higher, at comparable perimeter, than the other business groups of Imerys and comes after a stronger impact of the economic crisis in 2009 with a 32% decline in sales, reflecting the volatility of the demand of refractory and abrasive raw materials.
