Cookson expects slower H2 refractories performance

But 2011 should be “substantially ahead of 2010”; increase in foundry prices maintained

Cookson Group Plc expects the overall second half performance for its refractories and foundry arm to be weaker than the first half, the UK-based speciality materials company said in its interim statement.

 

Cookson explained that overall performance during H2 for its Ceramics division ­– which trades refractories under the Vesuvius brand and foundry under Foseco – will be “slightly lower than the first half”.
