Canada-based Tasman Metals Ltd, a mineral exploration and development company focused on strategic metals in the European region, is working on developing its Norra Karr rare earth project in Sweden.
Tasman Metals fully owns the 5.5km2 deposit which it acquired in September 2009 by claiming it on free ground, ie there was no other owner, president and CEO Mark Saxon explained to IM.
The Norra Karr project is located in southern Sweden, 15km north-east of the township of Granna and 300km south-west of the capital Stockholm. The claim, which was granted for a three-year period on 31August 2009, can be renewed for additional periods if exploration work has been completed on the project, according to the company.
