Franz Struzl has been appointed chief executive officer of world’s leading refractories producer Vienna-based RHI AG following Henning Jensen’s surprise resignation on 7 September 2011, after just seven months in the job. In the European version of the two-board system, Struzl is also chairman of the management board in addition to being CEO.
Franz Struzl, 69, was a member of the management board of steel producer Voestalpine Group for 12 years - a major customer of RHI refractories Ð of which he held the position of CEO for the last three years. Most recently, Franz Struzl managed Brazil-based Villares Metals SA, a company of the Bohler-Uddeholm group.
