K+S invests $3.13bn in Saskatchewan potash expansion

Leading potash producer K+S Aktiengesellschaft AG will invest C$3.25bn ($3.13bn) to produce 2m tpa potash from 2017 and reach 2.86m by 2023 at its Legacy potash project in Saskatchewan, Canada, the German company announced.

K+S explained that it will develop through 2015 a potash production based on solution mining at its Legacy project located about 50 km north of the city of Moose Jaw in southern Saskatchewan. First quantities of potassium chloride (KCl) are expected to start in 2015.
