Barytes prices continue to rise globally on demand, costs

Barytes prices have continued to rise across the world in the wake of ever-strengthening demand, transportation issues and rising freight costs, market participants told IM.

Increases in China, particularly for paint grades, were those cited most by sources. The price for barytes, paint grade, Chinese lump, CIF Gulf Coast, has risen from $240-260/tonne to $250-280/tonne.
