Some zircon grades have almost trebled since the start of the year – and demand is not likely to fall off.
The price of zircon sourced from the US (standard grade, FOB US) has been trading at a range of $2,550-2,750/tonne since the beginning of October. At the start of the year it was trading at $900/tonne. This is an increase of 195% (see graph).
