IM talks to recently appointed chief operating officer, George Bennett

George Bennett has been appointed chief operating officer of First Bauxite Corp., which is developing the refractory grade bauxite Bonasika deposit in Guyana.

An applied science graduate of Queen’s University, Ontario, with a degree in engineering geology, Bennett has over 50 years' involvement with the exploration, mining, production and sale of industrial minerals with specific focus on refractories.

His experience extends from start up refractory operations to managing international licensing and technology sales for Harbison Walker Refractories, in addition to global refractories marketing responsibilities. Bennett has acted as consultant to the Guyana and Peru refractory aluminosilicate industries.
