A new joint Russo-Chinese plant has become the world’s largest capacity lithium-ion battery facility, according to its owners.

 

The plant, Liotech, is a $430m joint venture between China’s Thunder Sky Ltd and the state-owned Russian Corp. of Nanotechnologies (Rusnano), with Thunder Sky owning 50.1% and Rusnano 49.9%.

 

Revenue levels of 40bn roubles ($1.3bn) are being predicted by 2015.
