Germany, one of the worlds largest rare earth consumers, could establish its own source through the development of a deposit discovered in the former East Germany during the 1970s.
Heidelberg-based Deutsche Rostoff AG (DRAG) has formed a new company, Seltenerden Storkwitz AG, to advance the Storkwitz deposit in Saxony to commercial production.
The Storkwitz deposit was mapped out during uranium exploration activities and has been defined by five drill holes.
