One of Canadas last two remaining asbestos mines has filed for bankruptcy protection, leaving no active asbestos operations in the country.
The announcement by LAB Chrysotile, which operates the Lac dAmiante mine near Thetford Mines, Québec, follows a production halt last October, which resulted in the loss of about 350 jobs for local miners.
