 Canada’s George Gordon First Nation is suing the federal and provincial governments of Canada and Saskatchewan for $10bn, arguing it has been “cheated off” over potash and oil developments, including deposits owned by mining giant BHP Billiton and Russian fertiliser group JSC Acron. The First Nation, located in south-eastern Saskatchewan, said in a statement that “Canada and Saskatchewan improperly denied them access to billions of dollars worth of potash and oil and gas lands though misconduct by Canada and Saskatchewan throughout The George Gordon Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement...
