IRC ramps up Russia ilmenite output, beating 2011 targets

IRC Ltd has exceeded its 2011 ilmenite production target at the Kuranakh mine in eastern Russia, having ramped up output at the new start-up throughout the year.

The Hong Kong-based company said it produced 63,490 tonnes of the titanium mineral, with 23,371 tonnes mined in the fourth quarter, beating its target for the year by 22%.
