Elemental Minerals Ltd (EML), an Australian company operating from Johannesburg in South Africa, is developing the Sintoukola potash deposit in the Republic of Congo (ROC) on the African continent.

The Sintoukola potash project, situated in a geological environment commonly referred to as the Congo Basin which stretches from Gabon to Angola, is located on the coast of ROC, 60 km to the north of the major West African port of Pointe Noire.

EML, which owns the deposit (93%) jointly with local partners - Les Etablissements Congolais MGM (5%) and Tanaka Resources (Proprietary) Ltd (2%) Ð through ROC-registered company Sintoukola Potash SA, expects to start producing 1.8m tpa potash from 2015 through conventional mining. The pre-feasibility study (PFS) is planned to be completed mid-2012 and the feasibility study in 2013. The company reported inferred resources of 442m tonnes at 19.57% K2O.
