Morocco’s OCP phosphate output unaffected by strike in Safi

Trade union “warning” to phosphate giant; but union “against blocking production”

Leading phosphate producer Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) was not affected by a strike called on Friday by a national trade union at one of its operation sites in Safi, the state-owned company told IM.

The National Union of Phosphate Labourers, affiliated to national trade union Democratic Labour Confederation (CDT), called for the strike in Safi, in western Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean, as “a warning” to OCP over disagreements for salaries and social benefits.
