Aluminium group UC Rusal has agreed to acquire the remaining 50% of Russia’s sole fluorspar producer, OOO Yaroslavsk GRK, from Russkaya Gornorudnaya Kompaniya (RGRK; Russian Ore Mining Co.).
On completion of the deal, which remains subject to the approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Yaroslavsk GRK (also known as Yaroslavsk Mining Co.) will be wholly owned by Rusal.
The acquisition is part of the group’s strategy to develop its own resource base and gain self sufficient in raw materials.
