Mosaic cuts potash production by 20% through to May

Uncertainty lowers near-term demand but farmer economics remain strong, says CEO

US-based fertiliser producer The Mosaic Co. will cut potash production by up to 20% from February through to May 2012 as the global economic uncertainty delays purchases, the company announced.

“Cautious dealer sentiment continues to delay purchases and lower near-term demand for potash,” said president and CEO Jim Prokopanko.
