London-headquartered Rio Tinto Plc has reduced production of bauxite as well as titanium feedstocks in Q1 2012, since Q4 2011, according to its quarterly operations report.
The British-Australian company also increased production at its Dampier salt project in Western Australia, which has suffered recently with the impact of three tropical cyclones in 2011.
Bauxite production, which was 8.06m tonnes in Q1 2011, began to rise in Q2 of 2011 and reached 9.5m tonnes in Q4 2011.
