The hydraulic fracturing (fracking) market is enjoying a continuing boom period which is creating demand growth for frac sand and ceramic proppants.
But in North America fracking is under fire from two angles: an acute rise in silica sand mine development, and perceptions from certain quarters of the process of fracking as a cause of pollution and earth tremors.
