Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) prices are expected to continue to rise in the coming years, owing largely to increased lime costs, sources observed to IM this week.
The PCC market was greatly impacted by the 2009 recession, which saw the European and North American paper markets bottom-out, falling 13% and 16% respectively, but it is now starting to show signs of growth, driven particularly by a resurgence in Asia.
