Rapid decrease in Chinese stibnite price continues downward trend

The latest Chinese antimony prices paint a mixed picture but an IM source expects that the overall drift will continue downward.

A Chinese supplier of antimony told IM that it had just received $13,000/tonne (CIF Rotterdam) for the metal, slightly below the ingot price of $13,100/tonne IM reported last week.

The source said that the price of stibnite, the most important source of metalloid antimony from which antimony trioxide is produced, has fallen rapidly in China in recent weeks.
