The US state of Wisconsin is suing two North American frac sand companies following a frac sand spill into the state’s St Croix river in May, IM has learned.
According to Deb Dix, environmental enforcement specialist at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the DNR has now transferred a complaint to the Department of Justice for violating state law and contributing to the spill.
