Chinas central government has announced that it plans to set up a rare earths conglomerate in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, in southern China, according to a China Daily newspaper report.
The establishment of the conglomerate takes Chinas rare earths industry a step closer to consolidation, a move which the government hopes will help regulate rare earth production in the country.
