Rio Tinto stay steady despite economic backlash

Rio Tinto plc’s overall non-metallurgical alumina production slipped slightly to 169,000 tonnes for Q2 2012 from 174,000 tonnes in Q2 2011, it repeated Tuesday.

This comprised of an 8,000 tonne drop in production to 22,000 tonnes, at the Anglo-Australian miner’s facility in Québec, Canada, with its European facilities remaining fairly constant.
