US Silica CEO reveals strategy in oil and gas market

US Silica, which recently went public, is the second largest producer of silica sand in the US. Recently entering its 112 year, the company has made strides forward in a variety of areas.  IM spoke to CEO Bryan Shinn.

 

Shinn has been president of US Silica since March 2011 and as CEO since January 2012. He was previously employed by the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company from 1983 to September 2009. He worked in a wide range of departments at DuPont, ranging from the Atomic Energy Division to polymers.

 

-What are your objectives as the new CEO?

 

So the first objective, dating back to when I became CEO in January, was to have a successful IPO and launch us out into the public market. We have done well at that and our company has been very well received by investors. People look at...
