Danish processing company FLSmidth revealed an order intake increase of 20% up to DKK 7,246m ($1,195m) in its Q2 results this week, demonstrating a strong underlying demand for minerals, the company said.
Total orders increased from DKK 6,048m ($999m) for Q2 2011, although outlook for mining capex appears to have deteriorated in the short term due to increased macroeconomic uncertainty, the company said.
Intake was especially strong in the companys cement, non-ferrous and customer service businesses, although orders for FLSmidths bulk materials division remained at the same level as Q2 2011. ...
